As the U.S. Supreme Court contemplates rolling back decades of progress by overturning Roe v. Wade, we must prepare for the fight over reproductive rights and other liberties to move to our State Legislature.

Representative Julie von Haefen (D-Wake) is an attorney and former President of the Wake County PTA. She’s seeking re-election. She and her husband, Dr. Roger von Haefen, a professor at NC State University, moved to Apex in 2005. They have three children, all of whom are students in the Wake County Public School System. 

Representative Rachel Hunt (D-Mecklenburg) is the daughter of former First Lady Carolyn Hunt and Governor Jim Hunt.  She’s an attorney and business owner who’s also certified in College Counseling/Education. She’s running for State Senate. She and her husband Olav live in Raintree and are the proud parents of Katia and Jonas.
