Please join us in downtown Raleigh on Wednesday, June 18th, for a fundraising event for Stan White, candidate for North Carolina Senate District 1. The district encompasses eight northeastern counties, and includes Elizabeth City, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Roanoke Island, and Washington. 

Stan White is a family business owner, and former teacher, County Commissioner, and State Senator.  He ran for this seat in 2012 and was narrowly defeated by a mere 21 votes out of more than 87,000 ballots cast.  White's opponent, incumbent Bill Cook, may be best known for proposing a bill which would have penalized the parents of college students who registered to vote on campus, by removing the tax exemption for dependents who register to vote at an address other than their parents' home.
